Founded in 1984, The American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (AATOD) works to enhance the quality of patient care in treatment programs by promoting the growth and development of comprehensive opioid treatment services throughout the United States. AATOD works with international, federal, and state agency officials concerning opioid treatment policy and initiatives. The Association's conferences focus on evidence-based clinical practice, research breakthroughs, and organizational developments affecting the current and future opioid treatment system.
